Well, that was weird but kinda awesome.

After I posted the new product launch of Is My Port Open, the traffic was awesome…and a little bit scary. 40 hits here, 50 more and more then……GONE.

After 2:00pm today my time, the traffic was gone. An Internet Ghost town. Gone to another post, site, link but for as short as it was, it was a learning experience.

Main points.

1. The app wasn’t fully tested. I tested the crap out of it, but it’s never enough
2. Code wise, I didn’t account for no open ports found, or PING was blocked
3. I didn’t do enough manually security hacking. This was pointed out and fixed immediately.

SEO wise, things are looking up. The app link has moved up consistently in both Google and Yahoo/Bing in the last 24 hours.

This is the first app I’ve launched in quite sometime. The feelings, nerves, anxiety … I’ve missed it and want some more.
